This Course is 200 clock hours in 10 weeks. A quick jump start into welding. High demand for stick welders comes from shipyards, commercial and industrial building industries. Not a lot of experience is required, and a lot of people are allowed to test right after graduating welding schools. Pay rates vary from shipyard to buildings. Ranges go from $20 – $28 locally. Outside of Houston and Texas $25 – $35 plus per diem.
